Community Engagement:
To keep stakeholders informed and gather valuable input, Metro has organized a series of in-person and virtual community meetings. These gatherings will focus on travel times and boardings for the six project alternatives, providing attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the proposed solutions. The meetings will include formal presentations, Q&A sessions, and an open house with information on all three projects. This inclusive approach ensures that the community’s needs and concerns are taken into account during the planning process.

Upcoming Events:
Mark your calendars for the upcoming meetings:

  • In-person meetings:
  • Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 5:30-8pm at Westwood United Methodist Church.

Field Work Progress:
Metro’s subcontractor is actively conducting preliminary geotechnical fieldwork to gather crucial information on the existing soil and rock conditions. Phase 1 of the survey work has been completed, and Phase 2, involving boring work on Veteran Avenue, is scheduled to begin in October. This essential data collection will inform the project’s design and implementation.

Impact on Parking and Road Closures:
As the field work progresses, parking restrictions will be imposed on the 100-500 block of Veteran Avenue from 6:30am to 5pm, primarily on weekdays. Some weekend work may also occur.
