As the NASA SpaceX Crew-6 mission nears its conclusion, the agency is gearing up to provide extensive coverage of the crew’s return to Earth from the International Space Station (ISS). The coverage will commence with live hatch closure at 5 a.m. EDT on Sunday, Sept. 3, and will be available on NASA Television, the NASA app, and the agency’s website.

The SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, carrying NASA astronauts Stephen Bowen and Woody Hoburg, UAE astronaut Sultan Alneyadi, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev, is scheduled to undock from the ISS at approximately 7:05 a.m. EDT on the same day. The journey home will mark the end of a remarkable six-month science mission.

Following the Dragon’s departure, NASA will continue coverage in audio-only format, while full coverage on NASA TV will resume during the splashdown broadcast. Real-time audio between Crew-6 and NASA’s flight controllers will remain available on the Mission Audio stream.

The Dragon spacecraft, aptly named Endeavour, will undock from the ISS and bring back crucial research to Earth. It will splash down in one of seven predetermined landing zones in the Atlantic Ocean or the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida.

The return of Crew-6 is currently targeted for 12:17 a.m. EDT on Monday, Sept. 4, marking the final leg of their extraordinary journey. To provide further insights and updates, NASA will host a media teleconference at 2 a.m. EDT on Sept. 4, featuring key participants from NASA, SpaceX, and the UAE Astronaut Programme.

For those interested in witnessing this historic event, NASA’s website provides comprehensive mission coverage, including the commercial crew blog. Stay tuned for more information and join in the excitement as NASA and SpaceX prepare for the successful splashdown of Crew-6.

To participate in the media teleconference or for more information, kindly RSVP to the NASA Kennedy newsroom by 1 a.m. EDT on Sept. 4 at ksc-newsroom@mail.nasa.gov.
