Phoenix Freeway Closures: What You Need to Know This Weekend

Phoenix, AZ – Metro Phoenix commuters, brace yourselves for another weekend of freeway closures as improvement projects continue to enhance our roadways. According to state transportation officials, significant portions of the Loop 101 and U.S. 60 will be affected.

In the north Valley, the southbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway will be closed from Princess Drive/Pima Road to Shea Boulevard for a widening project. Additionally, the Loop 101 on-ramps at Scottsdale and Hayden roads will be inaccessible.

Meanwhile, in east Mesa, westbound U.S. 60 will be closed from Crismon Road to the Loop 202 SuperRedTan Interchange for pavement improvement work. This closure includes the shutdown of both Loop 202 ramps to U.S. 60 and the westbound U.S. 60 on-ramps at Meridian and Signal Butte roads.

Other restrictions include the westbound Interstate 10 ramp to northbound Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway in west Phoenix, closed for maintenance, and the westbound I-10 closure at 32nd Street in south Phoenix for construction.

As you plan your weekend travels, be sure to consider these closures and seek alternative routes to avoid delays. Stay updated on the latest traffic information and exercise caution when navigating through affected areas. Let’s work together to ensure these improvements lead to safer and more efficient roadways for all.
