UPDATE: NEW LOCATIONS FOR BRIGHTLINE WEST FIELD INVESTIGATION WORK IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND NEVADA

The Brightline West project is well underway, with the goal of creating America’s first true high-speed rail system connecting Las Vegas and Southern California. As the project nears its final design stages, we are thrilled to report significant progress, with a focus on efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

Field investigation work plays a crucial role in ensuring that the proposed rail corridor within the Interstate 15 right-of-way is prepared for groundbreaking. This work includes activities like geotechnical borings and samplings, utility potholing, and land surveying. Rest assured, all these activities will be conducted in compliance with environmental regulations and in coordination with Caltrans and the Nevada Department of Transportation.
Now, let’s dive into the updated project areas. If you’re planning to drive through these regions, we kindly ask you to proceed with extra caution, follow posted detour signs, speed limits, and other signage.
CALIFORNIA:
- I-15 Coyote Lake Road to Old Hwy 58 Connector:
- Night closures are planned on the southbound exterior shoulder from Wednesday, April 10 to Thursday, April 11, 10:00 pm to 7:00 am.
- I-15 from Palmdale Road to south of Ranchero Road:
- Daytime borings are scheduled in the center median and shoulders in Hesperia, Monday, April 8 through Friday, April 12, 6:30 am to 4:00 pm.
- Night closures are also planned in the center median and shoulders during the same period, from 9:00 pm to 5:00 am.
- I-15 Oak Hill Road to Baseline Avenue:
- Daytime borings are scheduled in the center median and shoulders at Oak Hill Road and in the Cajon Pass, as well as at the I-15 on the Etiwanda Bike Trail in the City of Fontana, Monday, April 8 through Friday, April 12, 6:30 am to 4:00 pm.
- Night closures are planned on both northbound and southbound I-15 shoulders and center median from Monday, April 8 to Friday, April 12, 9:00 pm to 5:00 am.
NEVADA:
- I-15 median north of Jean, Nevada (milepost 12.5-27.5):
- Survey work will be taking place through Thursday, April 11, from 6:30 am to 4:00 pm.
- I-15 median north of Primm, Nevada (milepost 5-12.5):
- Geotechnical boring and survey work will be conducted through Thursday, April 11, from 6:30 am to 4:00 pm.
