Fan Fusion Is Back, After a Two Year Hiatus
Phoenix Fan Fusion returned to Downtown Phoenix on May 27 after a COVID-19 hiatus. Despite the scorching temperatures, attendees and cosplayers celebrated its comeback. The convention ends on May 29.
Phoenix, AZ – Friday, May 27, marked the return of the pop-culture event, Phoenix Fan Fusion, to the delight of a broad mix of patrons and creative cosplayers, young and old.
It was nice to see the return of this convention after a long delay due to the COVID-19 shutdown and a surge of the virus last year. This caused a delay their plans to run Fan Fusion in May of 2021, and they moved it to September of that year. The event was eventually cancelled until January 2022, the opening of the convention was moved to this Memorial Day weekend.

The event, taking place at the convention center in Downtown Phoenix, is being held under 100 plus degrees heat. There were plenty outdoor fans and portable air conditioners to help keep those cosplayers wearing heavy costumes and full body suits cool if they happened to be affected by the high temps.
It was nice to see the return of this convention. The patrons seemed really eager to see Fan Fusion return after such a long delay.
The event concludes tomorrow, May 29.
