SRP Supports Veggies for Veterans Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ – September 7, 2025 – A community partnership is making a difference in the lives of Arizona veterans. SRP has joined forces with Gregory’s Fresh Market/Diana Gregory Outreach Services and other partners to support Veggies for Veterans, a program dedicated to restoring food access, improving health, and strengthening community connections.

The next distribution is scheduled for Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Carl T. Hayden Medical Center (ACC Hallway and Drive-Thru). Volunteers will pack and distribute more than 600 bags of fresh produce to veterans and their families, ensuring access to nutrient-rich fruits and vegetables that help combat chronic illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and cholesterol.

More Than a Meal: Building Health and Community

Since its launch over eight years ago at Victory Place, a transitional housing facility for veterans in Phoenix, Veggies for Veterans has expanded to serve more than 20,000 veterans through events at the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center and the VA Outpatient Clinic. Held five times a year, each event not only provides healthy food but also encourages social engagement, connection, and support within the veteran community.

“SRP is proud to honor and support our local veteran community,” said Jackie Terry, SRP Senior Corporate Giving Strategist. “By helping bring healthy food directly to veterans, we are not only addressing hunger but also strengthening lives and communities.”

Powered by Community Support

The program continues to thrive thanks to sponsors including State Farm, Delta Dental of Arizona, Peddler’s Son, and SRP, along with the dedication of volunteers who make each event possible.

SRP, the largest electricity provider in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area, serves 1.1 million customers and provides water to about 2.5 million Valley residents. The utility is deeply rooted in community support, focusing on basic needs, education, and enrichment.
