AARP Pickleball Clinic Tour
The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) has launched an exciting initiative for seniors across the United States. With the debut of the “AARP Pickleball Clinic Tour,” AARP emphasizes its dedication to promoting an active and socially engaging lifestyle among older adults. The tour commenced with its first event in Chicago on July 31st, held at the Kroc Center from 5 PM to 8 PM CT, setting the pace for a series designed to celebrate and engage individuals over 50.
Unleashing the Joy of Pickleball
Pickleball has been recognized as the fastest-growing sport in the U.S. over the past four years. Its allure lies in its accessibility and its ability to transcend generational divides, making it an ideal activity for those aged 50 and above. AARP has organically integrated this sport into its mission by facilitating these clinics, which aim not only to introduce seniors to pickleball but also to create environments where social connections can flourish and mental acuity can be maintained through physical activity.
Tour Across the Nation
The nationwide tour will touch down in 12 cities, ensuring participants from various regions can join in. Starting from Chicago, the tour has already made stops in La Crosse, WI; Brooklyn, NY; and Houston, TX. Each location offers sessions tailored to various skill levels—from beginners seeking an introduction to the sport (“Intro to Pickleball”) to more seasoned players looking to hone their skills (“Skills & Drills”) or simply enjoy some friendly competition (“Open Play”).
