On December 9, 2022, I had the fortune of attending A Drag Queen Christmas with a good friend when the show hit the Arizona Financial Theater in Downtown Phoenix.

Murray and Peters has presented “A Drag Queen Christmas” for the eighth consecutive year. The show is a drag tour featuring alumni of the reality show,  RuPaul’s Drag Race.

I thought that the show was very pleasant experience, a lot of very funny comedy bits mixed with signing, skits, and was a wonderful experience.

NEW YORK /PRNewswire/ — Today, SHAPE (www.shape.com), the digital fitness destination and community, launched its first digital magazine, a new quarterly that will expand SHAPE’s daily wellness coverage into a fully themed, magazine-style package of new articles examining the topics most relevant to today’s active readers.

SHAPE’s first issue, “The Motivation Issue,” examines its topic from all angles, diving into the science of motivation, and sharing tips from experts about different techniques to motivate readers during their workouts and their daily lives.

SHAPE (www.shape.com), the digital fitness destination and community, launched its first digital magazine, a new quarterly that will expand SHAPE’s daily wellness coverage into a fully themed, magazine-style package of new articles examining the topics most relevant to today’s active readers.

Covering this issue is Emily in Paris star Ashley Park, who explains in her cover interview that her own daily motivation can be traced back to beating cancer as a 15-year-old.

“Once cancer physically left my body, I made it my mission to not let it affect my life,” she tells SHAPE. “I didn’t want it to define me. People were so worried about me, and I became the person that was like, ‘I’m fine. Don’t worry about me. I am going to go after what I want and just do it.’”

Later in the issue, Park’s Pilates instructor, Brandon Perry, details the workout that she relies on for readers to replicate. The full issue will also include stories examining the science and psychology of motivation, and features revealing how Peloton’s star instructors inspire their classes, and why working out with a buddy can keep you on track to meet your goals.

“When it came time to choose a theme for our first digital issue, the answer was a no-brainer,” said Alyssa Sparacino, SHAPE’s editorial director. “Motivation, in all its complexities, speaks so squarely to what SHAPE stands for: a balanced perspective on health, empowering information that’s meant to guide–never dictate–and inclusive stories that speak to anyone at any point in their wellness journey.”

(Los Angeles, CA) – December 8, 2022.  The highly acclaimed rape-revenge short film DANA serves as a glorious catharsis for Spanish writer-director Lucía Forner Segarra, whose inspiration for the story came to her after an assault.

The angry yet humorous short has been selected at over 120 film festivals, collecting 42 awards along the way, including the prestigious Best Live Action Short Award at the Oscar®-qualifying St-Louis International Film Festival. This highly coveted recognition propels Forner Segarra into the 2022/23 international awards race. DANA was also shortlisted for the Goya awards, Spain’s main national annual film awards.

“Fantastic twist, under a #MeToo lens, on the revenge and urban vigilante genres, with a mise-en-scène of utmost elegance and a brilliant use of dark comedy,” said Xavi Sánchez Pons (Selection Committee of Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia) about the short.

The story is about Diana, a young woman who after surviving an assault decides something must change and takes the law into her own hands under the moniker DANA.

“DANA burst out of my guts. It has allowed me to work through my anger and trauma, and to talk openly about a topic as taboo as sexual assault. Thanks to the short, I have connected with the people around me and with strangers, women who have opened up to me about their assaults. There has not been a screening of DANA in which no one spoke up in person or through social media about this issue afterwards,” says director Lucía Forner Segarra.

“It isn’t a comfortable subject and in most cases, the victim knows the aggressor and it is extremely hard to speak up and report it. But it must be done and that’s why I made this movie,” she concludes.

DANA is an 18-min short written, directed, and produced by Lucía Forner Segarra. It stars Thais Blume (DANA), Niko Verona (TOMÁS), Josean Bengoetxea (AUGUSTO), Iñake Irastorza (FERRETER). Cinematography by Claudia Rodríguez. Production Design by Luciana Garriga. Editing by Fanny Fernández Morales. Original score by Joan Vilà. Distribution Company: YAQ.
