Iconic candy brand doubles down on sensory experience with juice-filled clusters and limited-edition football season flavors

Juicy Gummy Clusters

CHICAGO — The candy aisle is about to get a whole lot juicier. NERDS®, the beloved brand that’s been pushing confectionery boundaries for four decades, just unveiled its biggest product innovation since 2020: NERDS Juicy Gummy Clusters candy.

And when they say “mega,” they mean it — literally double the size of the original.

A Four-Layer Flavor Experience

The new Juicy Gummy Clusters take everything fans loved about the original and amplify it. Picture this: tangy, crunchy NERDS candies creating a colorful outer shell, wrapping around a chewy strawberry punch gummy layer, all surrounding a juicy liquid center that bursts with flavor when you bite down.

It’s a multisensory candy experience designed to hit every texture note — crunchy, gummy, and now juicy — in one satisfying bite.

“Five years ago, NERDS transformed the candy landscape with the launch of NERDS Gummy Clusters candy—and now, we’re raising the bar again,” said Katie Duffy, Vice President of Global Brands at Ferrara, the company behind NERDS. “NERDS Juicy Gummy Clusters candy represents the next evolution of innovation and reimagines snacking in an elevated, bold, multisensorial experience.”

The innovation marks a significant milestone for the brand, building on the exponential success of the original Gummy Clusters that debuted five years ago and quickly became a fan favorite.

Game Day Gets Sweeter

Just in time for football season, NERDS is also rolling out two limited-time Gummy Clusters flavors that are guaranteed to score with fans:

Cherry Lemonade Blitz — A brand-new flavor pairing sweet cherry with tart lemon for a refreshing game day treat.

Berry Punch Rush — The returning MVP. This raspberry, cherry, and punch combination was such a hit last season that NERDS brought it back for a two-peat.

Both limited-edition flavors feature packaging with the lovable NERDS characters sporting classic football helmets, inviting fans to get in on the game day action.

Where to Find Them

NERDS Juicy Gummy Clusters candy is hitting select retailers now, with nationwide availability rolling out in three sizes:

  • 2.65 oz. packs
  • 4.5 oz. packs
  • 7.15 oz. packs

Suggested retail prices range from $2.49 to $6.49, though prices may vary by location.

The limited-time football season flavors are also available now in select stores, with wide availability beginning in October. They’ll come in 3 oz., 5 oz., and 8 oz. packs at similar price points — but only for a limited time.

A Legacy of Innovation

For more than four decades, NERDS has been the candy brand that refuses to play it safe. From the iconic dual-chambered boxes that let you mix and match complementary flavors to NERDS Ropes, Big Chewy NERDS, and the game-changing Gummy Clusters, the brand has consistently reimagined what candy can be.

This latest innovation continues that tradition, turning everyday snacking moments into something extraordinary — one mega, crunchy, gummy, juicy bite at a time.

5 Health Benefits of Whole Milk for Kids

5 Health Benefits of Whole Milk for Kids

(Family Features) Forget the outdated nutrition advice that told parents to skip whole milk. A growing body of research is turning that idea on its head, making it time to rethink what “healthy” means for growing kids. For decades, families have been told low-fat milk is the best choice once children turn 2. However, those recommendations were largely based on data from adults, not children. Today’s evidence paints a different picture – one where whole milk supports kids’ growth, development and long-term health. “Parents are often surprised to learn whole milk isn’t just safe – it’s beneficial,” said Jaclyn London, MS, RD, CDN, nutrition consultant and spokesperson for Dairy Farmers of America. “When we look at the latest research, whole milk provides the high-quality protein, healthy fats and essential nutrients kids need during key stages of development – without increasing risk for obesity or heart disease.” With 13 essential nutrients and vitamins – including calcium, vitamin D and protein – real dairy milk is a simple, nutrient-dense staple. It’s also an easy addition to family favorites like Breakfast Cookies and Homemade Cream of Tomato Soup. Here are five research-backed reasons to feel confident about choosing whole milk. Whole milk is not associated with higher obesity rates. Multiple large-scale studies from “The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition,” the “International Journal of Obesity” and “Preventive Medicine Reports” show children who drink whole milk have lower or similar body fat levels compared to those drinking reduced-fat milk. Whole milk does not increase risk of heart disease. According to “Advances in Nutrition,” whole milk does not increase cardiometabolic risk in kids; in fact, it’s associated with better vitamin D levels with no adverse effects on cholesterol or glucose. It’s nutrient-dense and supports optimal growth. All types of milk, including whole, provide essential nutrients like calcium, protein and vitamins A and D – all critical for bone development and healthy growth in children, per “Nutrition Research Reviews.” Kids like the taste – and that matters. Children often prefer the taste of whole milk over low-fat versions, according to the “Journal of Dairy Science,” which can lead to more consistent consumption. Adults may benefit, too. Among adults, full-fat dairy is associated with greater satiety, improved blood sugar regulation and a reduced risk of metabolic syndrome, according to a study published in “Nutrition & Metabolism,” helping reframe full-fat dairy as part of a balanced diet.
