Last Updated on November 28, 2024 by Daily News Staff
Abilene, Texas, get ready! The much-loved Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop is set to open a new location right in your backyard, at 3655 Catclaw Dr., this coming August 27. Known for its delicious hand-crafted cheese steaks, freshly roasted turkey subs, and so much more, Capriotti’s is a name that brings water to the mouths of sandwich lovers everywhere. And now, thanks to a longtime fan, these unique flavors are making their way to Abilene.
A Dream Turned Reality
Local entrepreneur Matt Farler is the man behind the magic. His journey with Capriotti’s started during his college years at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas, where he discovered what would become his favorite sandwich, the Capastrami—an irresistible concoction of hot pastrami, Swiss cheese, Russian dressing, and coleslaw. Capriotti’s was more than just a food spot for Matt and his friends; it was a second home, a place of warmth and connection. Now, Matt wants to bring that same sentiment to his own community in Abilene.
“In college, Capriotti’s was more than a sandwich shop—it was a place of connection and comfort,” Farler shared. “I am so thrilled to be able to bring the franchise to the people of Abilene for the very first time; to the community that my family and I call home!”
More Than Just Sandwiches
Indeed, Capriotti’s is not just about sandwiches. It embodies a 40-year tradition of culinary excellence—slow-roasting whole, all-natural turkeys in-house every day. Their expansive menu features a variety of mouth-watering options including The Bobbie, voted “The Greatest Sandwich in America” by an AOL.com reader’s poll, crafted from oven-roasted turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and mayo. True to its reputation, the cheese steaks can be enjoyed with premium steak, chicken, or Impossible plant-based meat.
A Boost to the Local Economy
The new location will not only satiate taste buds but also bring new job opportunities to Abilene, supporting the local economy. Plus, with Capriotti’s commitment to convenience, sandwich lovers can look forward to placing orders online, on the phone, or via third-party delivery services—ensuring that everyone can enjoy their subs however they prefer.
For the Fans
Dedicated fans and new customers alike can take advantage of the CAPAddicts Rewards app, available on iOS and Android, to earn points, redeem rewards, and even score some free food. Whether it’s a quick lunch, a family dinner, or a special event, Capriotti’s offers something for everyone with options ranging from cold sub party trays to hot homemade meatball bars for catering.
As Matt Farler’s dreams of sharing his favorite sandwich shop with his community come to fruition, the people of Abilene are in for a delightful culinary treat with this new Capriotti’s location.
