On Friday, September 5, 2025, Assistory Outreach Services hosted its Third Annual Awards Breakfast, a celebration of compassion, commitment, and community impact. The event, held before a packed room of supporters, was a time to reflect on a year of milestones while honoring those who willingly dedicate themselves to helping others.
A Morning of Celebration
The breakfast began with warm fellowship and a shared meal, setting the tone for a morning rooted in gratitude. Serving as Master of Ceremonies was the esteemed Linda Williams, whose presence brought both energy and elegance to the occasion.

As plates were cleared, the spotlight turned to the awards presentations. Community members and partners were recognized for their dedication to outreach—whether through direct service, innovative initiatives, or simply a steadfast commitment to showing up for others. Each honoree represented a unique thread in the fabric of Assistory’s mission.
Highlights of the Year
The event also looked back on a year filled with service and growth. In 2025, Assistory Outreach Services:
Expanded street outreach in Mesa, supporting the homeless with resources and compassion. Taught seniors in both Maricopa and Chandler how to navigate smartphones and digital tools, helping bridge the technology gap. Launched its first-ever bowling fundraiser, blending fun with fundraising to sustain programs. Exposed young students to new opportunities through career-focused field trips. Volunteered with community partners to celebrate Juneteenth, underscoring the organization’s commitment to unity and justice. Prepared for the upcoming holiday season by planning to deliver free turkey meals and gifts to low-income families and isolated seniors in South Phoenix.
The morning concluded with a lively raffle, bringing smiles, laughter, and anticipation as guests won prizes to close out the event on a celebratory note.
Founder’s Vision
Jon Taylor, President & CEO of Assistory Outreach Services
In his founder’s statement, Jon Taylor, President & CEO, reflected on the journey of Assistory Outreach Services:
“I created Assistory during the global pandemic because I saw a need to give back and provide exposure to those often overlooked. What separates human beings from other species is our sense of community. People want to help other people—it’s a normal behavior. My job is to give back and show others how to do the same. Let’s do this together, sincerely.”
Taylor’s words underscored the true meaning of the breakfast: service is not just an act—it is a way of life that transforms both those who give and those who receive.
Moving Forward
The Third Annual Awards Breakfast was more than an event. It was a powerful reminder of what happens when individuals, partners, and communities come together with one goal: to help people.
As Assistory Outreach Services looks ahead, the message is clear—together, we can continue to build bridges, create opportunities, and make a lasting difference.

3 Ways You Can Help Tackle Hunger and Strengthen Communities This Holiday Season

3 Ways You Can Help Tackle Hunger and Strengthen Communities This Holiday Season
(Family Features) The holiday season is often a time of joy, connection and celebration. For millions of families across the country, however, it is also a season of uncertainty, wondering how to put food on the table or meet other essential needs. According to the USDA, more than 47.4 million people in the United States experience food insecurity each year. That’s why, each holiday season, thousands of Charles Schwab employees come together to fight hunger and strengthen the communities where they live and work. Through employee meal-packing events and nonprofit grants, volunteers and partners help families access nutritious meals and vital support during the holidays and beyond. “As we gather with loved ones this season, it’s important to remember that not all of our neighbors have that security,” said Kristine Dixon, managing director of Charles Schwab Community Affairs. “By working side-by-side with local hunger relief organizations, we’re helping ensure more families can share in the joy of a holiday meal and the peace of knowing they are supported.” As you prepare for the holidays, here are a few ways you can help address hunger relief and support your neighbors. Donate to a Local Food Bank Food banks and pantries are at the heart of efforts to make nutritious food accessible for all. Inflation and rising costs of living have stretched budgets thin, making it harder for families to afford groceries. Nonperishable donations such as canned goods, pasta and rice are always in high demand. Monetary donations often go even further, giving food banks the ability to purchase exactly what is needed most. Volunteer Your Time The gift of time is just as valuable as food donations. Food banks and hunger relief nonprofits rely on volunteers to sort, pack and distribute meals. Even a few hours can make a meaningful difference, adding up to thousands of volunteer hours to help nonprofits meet urgent needs during the holiday season and year-round. Support Community Partnerships No single organization can solve hunger alone. Collective action from neighbors, companies, nonprofits and others is what creates lasting impact. This year, Schwab employees will join forces with partners like Harvest Pack to pack more than 1 million nutritious meals for families across the country. Supporting these types of efforts, whether through donations, volunteering or spreading awareness, can expand the impact. Hunger is about more than food; it’s about stability and opportunity. By giving, volunteering and partnering with organizations that serve families in need, you can make the holiday season brighter for millions of Americans. ALDI Sets New Standard with $40 Thanksgiving Feast for 10
ALDI offers a complete $40 Thanksgiving feast for 10 people—that’s $4 per person. Get turkey, sides, and dessert with no coupons or memberships required. Learn how to save on your holiday meal starting October 15.

When it comes to holiday hosting, the guest list often grows faster than the budget allows. But this Thanksgiving, ALDI is making sure no one gets left off the invitation—proving you can feed a crowd without emptying your wallet.
The country’s fastest-growing grocer just announced it’s offering a complete Thanksgiving meal for 10 people at just $40. That’s right—$4 per person, less than what you’d pay for a pumpkin spice latte. And unlike last year’s already-impressive deal, ALDI has managed to lower prices even further, setting a new benchmark for affordable holiday meals.
What’s on the Table?
For your $40, you’re not getting a bare-bones dinner. ALDI’s Thanksgiving spread includes 21 total products covering all the classics your family expects:
- A 14-pound Jennie-O turkey
- Rolls
- Cranberry sauce
- Mac and cheese
- Stuffing
- Mashed potatoes with gravy
- Sweet potato casserole
- Green bean casserole
- Carrots
- Pumpkin pie
Every tradition, every side dish, every comfort food your guests look forward to—all included. Items are purchased individually and clearly marked on the shelf, with no coupons or membership fees required.
Why This Matters Now
Timing couldn’t be better. According to the August Consumer Price Index, staples like fruits, vegetables, and meats are more expensive than last year, pushing overall grocery costs higher. For families already stretching their budgets, the holidays can feel like a financial tightrope walk.
“The ALDI commitment to low prices is unwavering and I am thrilled that we are able to offer an even more affordable holiday meal than last year,” said Atty McGrath, CEO of ALDI U.S. “Saving our shoppers money is our mission every day—but is especially important during the holidays when they need it most.”
And the savings add up beyond Thanksgiving. According to ALDI’s 2025 Price Leadership Report, a family of four can save up to $4,000 annually by shopping at ALDI—from everyday meals to special occasions.
Leading the Industry on Price
For years, ALDI has consistently offered the lowest per-person price on Thanksgiving meals compared to nationwide retailers. This year’s announcement reinforces that leadership position.
“Thanksgiving is the biggest food holiday of the year, and ALDI is proud to lead the industry once again on price,” said Scott Patton, CCO of ALDI U.S. “Price leadership is part of our DNA, and the holidays are when our commitment to value really shines. We believe families shouldn’t have to make trade-offs to feed everyone, especially at Thanksgiving.”
How to Get Your $40 Feast
Shopping for your Thanksgiving meal at ALDI is flexible and convenient. Starting October 15 through December 24, you can:
- Shop in-store at your local ALDI
- Order online for curbside pickup
- Use grocery delivery partners including Instacart, Uber Eats, and DoorDash
Note that online prices may vary slightly from in-store pricing in your area, but the value proposition remains strong across all shopping methods.
The Bottom Line
Thanksgiving is about gathering with the people who matter most—not about stressing over whether you can afford to invite everyone. ALDI’s $40 Thanksgiving meal removes that barrier, making it possible to keep every tradition and every guest on your list.
In a year when grocery prices continue to climb, ALDI is doubling down on its commitment to value. The message is clear: you don’t have to choose between a full table and a balanced budget.
This Thanksgiving, hosts can focus on what really matters—the laughter, the stories, the moments that become memories. Because when dinner costs less than a round of coffee drinks, there’s one less thing to worry about and one more reason to be grateful.
