VP Harris, South Korea President Visit NASA Goddard
VP Harris and South Korea President Yoon toured NASA Goddard to observe climate change missions and strengthen cooperation in space exploration.

Vice President Kamala Harris and Republic of Korea President Yoon Suk Yeol visited NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center to observe how NASA studies climate change. During the visit, they were shown NASA’s recently launched Tropospheric Emissions: Monitoring of Pollution (TEMPO) mission and the ROK’s Geostationary Environment Monitoring Spectrometer (GEMS) mission.
Both missions are improving life on Earth by revolutionizing the way scientists observe air quality from space.
The visit also included a meeting with Korean-American scientists and a briefing on the importance of space to addressing climate change.
Additionally, the Vice President and the President saw NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, which is currently under construction at Goddard. The telescope is designed to explore many topics in infrared astrophysics and unravel the secrets of dark energy and dark matter.
The visit strengthened the cooperation between the United States and the Republic of Korea in science and exploration.
