Seeking Clarity: My Encounter with the MUFON Organization

Seeking answers to a sighting: Frustration with vague explanations and unprofessional conduct. #SightingInvestigation. This is an update to my initial July 3, 2023 sighting

I recently had a rather peculiar sighting that left me with more questions than answers. Eager to understand what I witnessed, I reached out to the MUFON organization and reported my sighting. This is where I had to navigate the quest for clarity and the need for transparent communication when seeking answers to unexplained phenomena.

The Initial Sighting:
Almost a month ago, I had a seemingly remarkable encounter that prompted me to report it to the MUFON organization. After sharing my report, I was put in touch with an investigator from their team. We began corresponding primarily through email. Initially, the investigator suggested that the sighting could be attributed to skydivers, based on the information I provided about two separate incidents. One occurred on July 3, where a lighted object dropped a teardrop-shaped light, and the other on July 4, showing a light source moving in from the east before splitting in two then taking a downward trajectory and disappearing. I later discovered the second sighting were actually the skydivers.

Seeking Detailed Explanations:
As I closely examined both videos of the incidents, it became evident that they appeared different from each other. However, the investigator’s response lacked the necessary detail to address my concerns. The investigator simply stated that the sighting on July 4 involved skydivers. Frustrated with the lack of clarity, I emphasized the need for more specific explanations. To support my claims, I shared the TikTok links where I had posted the videos. Both videos were available on TikTok, and I hoped this would aid in providing a clearer understanding of the events.



An Uncertain Conclusion:
In a subsequent response, the investigator informed me that their chief video analyst had concluded that the sightings were indeed caused by skydivers and was based on the presence of a Cessna aircraft in the area on July 4. While I have no issue accepting the possibility of skydivers being responsible for the sighting, I expressed my dissatisfaction with the vagueness of their explanation. Seeking comprehensive answers, I shared my proximity to Deer Valley Airport, questioning the mentioning of a single aircraft, by make, that was in the vicinity and how it could have contributed to the sighting. Unfortunately, the investigator’s reply had a slight edge of snippiness within a cloak of cordiality.

The Importance of Clear Communication:
As someone seeking answers, I believe that clear and detailed communication is crucial, especially when dealing with unexplained phenomena. Vague responses only create more confusion and hinder the quest for understanding. I had hoped that an organization like MUFON would exhibit a higher level of professionalism and responsiveness to address my concerns. However, the dismissive attitude displayed by the investigator was disconcerting and left me feeling unheard.


These are the last three emails sent between us about the sightings.


Taking Matters into My Own Hands:
Given the investigator’s unhelpful response and added rudeness, I have decided to pursue further investigation independently. While I understand that MUFON has its protocols, the lack of transparency and professionalism in their interactions has left me with no choice but to continue my quest for answers on my own.


My encounter with the MUFON organization in the wake of my sighting has been a mixed experience. While I appreciate their initial engagement and the efforts made by their chief video investigator, the vague explanations and unprofessional conduct have left me dissatisfied. As I continue my personal investigation, I am reminded of the importance of clear communication and transparency when seeking answers. The pursuit of understanding in the face of unexplained phenomena is a journey that requires openness, respect, and a commitment to providing comprehensive explanations. I will continue my quest for clarity, undeterred by the setbacks encountered along the way.

Exciting news from the realm of space exploration! NASA and its incredible international partners are gearing up for an eventful departure as the SpaceX Dragon cargo spacecraft bids farewell to the International Space Station on Sunday, April 28 (weather permitting). This pivotal moment will mark the return of scientific research samples and hardware, acquired during the spacecraft’s stay at the orbiting laboratory. Enthusiastically, NASA is providing extensive coverage of the undocking and departure, ensuring that we don’t miss a moment of this extraordinary event.

Undocking and Departure:
NASA will commence its coverage of the undocking and departure at 12:45 p.m. EDT, accessible through various means such as NASA+, NASA Television, the NASA app, YouTube, and the agency’s website. If you’re curious about experiencing the event firsthand, worry not – NASA offers streaming options on multiple platforms, including social media.

Dragon will gracefully undock from the zenith port of the Harmony module, promptly at 1:05 p.m., after receiving ground control commands from SpaceX in Hawthorne, California. Following undocking, it will steadily propel itself away from the International Space Station, creating a safe distance between them.

Return to Earth:
Upon re-entering Earth’s atmosphere, the Dragon spacecraft will elegantly splash down off the coast of Florida, with the ultimate goal of delivering more than 4,100 pounds of supplies and scientific experiments back to home soil. Scientific Endeavors:
Among the plethora of captivating studies making their way back to Earth, one standout is the Flawless Space Fibers-1 experiment. Facts About the Lyrids!

The April Lyrids meteor shower is a celestial event that occurs annually from April 15 to April 29. The radiant of this meteor shower is located in the vicinity of the constellations Lyra and Hercules, near the bright star Vega. Typically, the peak of the shower is around April 22-23 each year.

The April Lyrids meteor shower is caused by the particles of dust shed by the long-period Comet C/1861 G1 Thatcher. This is the most intense annual shower of meteors that results from the debris of a long-period comet. The reason for its intensity is that the comet Thatcher has a relatively short orbital period of about 415 years as compared to other intermediate long-period comets with orbital periods of 200-10,000 years. The Lyrids have been visible and recorded since 687 BC. No other modern shower of meteors has been observed and reported as far back in time as the Lyrids.

The peak of the shower usually occurs around April 22 and the morning of April 23. Typically, there are 5 to 20 meteors per hour, with an average of around 10. However, the number of meteors seen will depend on the observer’s location, as light pollution in cities will make it harder to see them compared to rural areas. The best time to observe the meteors is during nights without the Moon in the sky, and most April Lyrid meteors are usually around magnitude +2. Some meteors can be brighter and are known as “Lyrid fireballs”. These fireballs can cast shadows for a split second and leave behind smokey debris trails that last for minutes.

Once every 60 years, the shower intensifies as the planets direct the dust trail of the comet, which has completed one orbit, onto Earth’s path. This leads to an outburst of April Lyrid meteors. Previously, it was believed that the outbursts were caused by a dust cloud moving in a 60-year orbit. However, observations in 1982 and 1922 showed rates of 90 April Lyrids per hour at the peak. An even stronger storm occurred in 1803, with up to 700 meteors per hour, witnessed by a journalist in Richmond, Virginia.

Shooting stars. This electrical phenomenon was observed on Wednesday morning last at Richmond and its vicinity, in a manner that alarmed many, and astonished every person that beheld it. From one until three in the morning, those starry meteors seemed to fall from every point in the heavens, in such numbers as to resemble a shower of sky rockets …

In recorded history, the oldest meteor shower is the one that occurred on March 23.7, 687 BC (according to the proleptic Julian calendar), which was noted in Zuo Zhuan. The shower was described as follows: “On the 4th month in the summer in the year of xīn-mǎo (of year 7 of King Zhuang of Lu), at night, the sky is so bright that some fixed stars become invisible because of the meteor shower; at midnight, stars fell like rain.” In the Australian Aboriginal astronomy of the Boorong tribe, the Lyrids are associated with the scratchings of the Mallee fowl (represented by Vega) during its nest-building season.
