BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Oct. 8, 2025 — Hyundai Motor America, in partnership with Children’s of Alabama, recently hosted another successful child safety seat inspection event at The Summit Birmingham, reinforcing their ongoing dedication to child passenger safety across the state.
Since the partnership began, the initiative has supported more than 1,179 families and replaced over 190 car seats, providing valuable safety education and resources to parents and caregivers. This community-focused event is part of Hyundai’s corporate social responsibility program, Hyundai Hope, which works to create safer, healthier communities nationwide.
Empowering Families Through Education and Safety
“The safety of our youngest passengers is paramount and extends far beyond the vehicles we design,” said Cole Stutz, Chief Safety Officer, Hyundai Motor North America. “Our partnership with Children’s of Alabama shows how community engagement and automotive innovation can work hand in hand to make a real difference. By meeting families where they are and providing education and resources, we empower them to make life-saving decisions.”
At the Birmingham car seat check, families received free inspections by certified child passenger safety technicians who ensured that each seat was properly installed, up to date, and safe for the child’s age and size. Technicians also checked for manufacturer recalls and expiration dates.
For families in need, replacement car seats were provided — further strengthening the program’s mission to ensure that every child travels safely.

The Importance of Proper Car Seat Installation
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), nearly half of all car seats and booster seats are installed incorrectly or misused. When installed properly, car seats can reduce the risk of fatal injury by 71% for infants under one year old and by 54% for children between ages one and four.
Ashley Bridgmon, Manager of the Health Education and Safety Center at Children’s of Alabama, emphasized the impact of the collaboration:
“We are grateful to Hyundai for this continued partnership. Their support allows us to promote child passenger safety and empower families with the knowledge they need to keep children safe on the roads.”
A Shared Vision for Safer Communities
This latest car seat check event underscores Hyundai and Children’s of Alabama’s shared commitment to protecting children and families through community education and action. Together, they are helping to create a culture of safety that extends beyond the road — one family at a time.
