Life Time Unveils Major Pickleball Expansion at Annapolis Town Center

Life Time, the nation’s premier healthy way of life company, has taken a significant step in transforming the former Bed, Bath and Beyond space at Annapolis Town Center into a vibrant hub for fitness and social engagement. Announced on October 9, 2024, this 46,000-square-foot expansion doubles the size of Life Time Annapolis, turning it into a nearly 90,000-square-foot athletic country club.

A New Era for Pickleball Enthusiasts

With pickleball rapidly becoming the fastest-growing sport in the nation, Life Time is meeting this demand head-on with the addition of 11 permanent pickleball courts. These courts will cater to open play, leagues, clinics, and tournaments, and are complemented by courtside social lounges designed for both viewing and hosting events. This new emphasis on pickleball echoes Life Time’s broader strategy, as it has rolled out more than 750 pickleball courts nationwide since 2021.

Enhanced Fitness and Recovery Spaces

This expansion isn’t just about pickleball; it’s about offering a holistic health experience. Life Time Annapolis now includes small group training areas and spaces for its exclusive Alpha, GTX, and UltraFit classes. These new spaces will be outfitted with top-tier cardio and strength training equipment.

Taking fitness further, the location introduces Life Time Recovery and mobility services, featuring hydro and cryo massage chairs, percussion massage, and compression boots to ensure proper recovery and wellness.

Prime Location and Community Engagement

Parham Javaheri, Life Time’s Chief Property Development Officer and President of Club Operations, expressed excitement about the expansion: “From the moment we announced we were bringing pickleball to Annapolis Town Center this spring, the excitement has been building and we’re thrilled to bring even more opportunities for people to be healthy, happy and social.” This initiative has turned a prime real estate location into an epicenter of health and wellness, attracting both existing members and the broader community.

A Strong Endorsement from Tennis Legend

Highlighting Life Time’s commitment to racket sports, tennis icon Andre Agassi was named as the inaugural chair of the Life Time Racquet Sports Board earlier this year. His involvement signals a dedication to expanding and enhancing the sport’s presence within Life Time’s offerings.
