Canine Lymphoma Awareness Day: Educating and Empowering Dog Owners

“Join us on Canine Lymphoma Awareness Day to raise awareness, educate dog owners, and empower them in the fight against this devastating disease. #CanineLymphomaAwarenessDay”

National Canine Lymphoma Awareness Day, observed on November 7th, serves as a platform to educate and raise awareness about canine lymphoma, a devastating disease that affects our beloved four-legged companions.

The inception of this day can be traced back to Terry Simons, a renowned dog agility trainer, and competitor. When Terry’s cherished canine companion, Reveille, was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2011, he encountered a lack of accurate information and treatment options. Determined to make a difference, Terry established the CLEAR (Canine Lymphoma Education Awareness and Research) foundation in honor of Reveille.

The mission of CLEAR is to provide valuable information, resources, and support to dog owners facing canine lymphoma. By empowering them with knowledge, CLEAR ensures that they can make informed decisions and become advocates for their furry family members.

On Canine Lymphoma Awareness Day, you can contribute to the cause in various ways. Educate yourself about the signs and impact of the disease, support research efforts through donations or fundraisers, and share your knowledge on social media using the hashtag #CanineLymphomaAwarenessDay.

National Canine Lymphoma Awareness Day, established in 2015, continues to make significant strides in spreading awareness and fostering research to combat this devastating disease. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our canine companions and provide hope for a brighter future.

10,000-room Crystal Lagoons Project Opens in Orlando Just Steps From Disney World

***The most visited destination in the U.S. offers a wide range of entertainment but lacks a beach. This development will make up for this with a crystalline lagoon and white sandy beaches.

***The complex features the first Conrad hotel in Orlando and consolidates the presence of the multinational in the hospitality industry.

MIAMI /PRNewswire/ — More than 10,000 rooms will surround the lagoon powered by Crystal Lagoons® technologyrecently inaugurated in the United States. It is located just steps from Disney World and Universal Studios in the heart of Orlando, the most visited destination in the US, with 75 million tourists annually.  This city offers a wide range of entertainment options but lacks a beach, an issue remedied in this great development with a crystalline lagoon of the multinational innovation company founded by the scientist Fernando Fischmann.

Crystal Lagoons brings beach life to Orlando with an 8-acre crystalline lagoon at the Evermore Orlando Resort

The lagoon forms part of the Evermore Orlando Resortone of the largest tourism projects in Florida. The large 8-acre body of water with extensive beaches breaks the hotel paradigm by providing truly superior standards and consolidates the presence of Crystal Lagoons in the hospitality and entertainment industry.

Surrounding the lagoon is Orlando’s first Conrad hotel, a luxury brand of the Hilton chain, as well as a variety of homes, villas and apartments. In addition, there is an 18-hole golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus, one of the greatest golfers in history.

“Every hotel project incorporating a Crystal Lagoons® amenity becomes the most attractive destination in the area. Conrad, one of the world’s leading hotel chains, understood this and decided to make a qualitative leap with respect to the existing offer in the most touristic area of the U.S.,” said Iván Manzur, Senior Vice President of Sales of Crystal Lagoons US Corp.

The United States is the main operation of Crystal Lagoons worldwide, with more than 275 projects at different stages of development and negotiation. Among the most important are Aqua, Mirada, Sole Mia, Balmoral, Windsong Ranch, Beachwalk, and Southshore Bay. The recent joint venture to develop four Public Access Lagoons™ complexes, also known as PAL™, in Texas, stands out and will add to the successful public access developments Epperson (Florida) and Lago Mar (Texas).

About Crystal Lagoons

Crystal Lagoons is a U.S.-based multinational that developed a technology allowing crystalline lagoons of unlimited sizes to be built and maintained at low cost anywhere. It has more than 1,000 projects at various stages of development and negotiation worldwide.

With over 3,000 patents in 160 countries, its sustainable amenities use up to 100 times fewer chemicals and only 2% of the energy required by conventional swimming pools. Bureau Veritas verified the technology’s efficient water use, concluding that a 1-Ha/2.5-ac. lagoon utilizes 33 times less water than a golf course and 40% less water than a park of the same size. Crystal Lagoons® amenities can use sea, fresh, and brackish water, which is abundant and has no other use.

6 Tips to Maintain Your Skin’s Health

(Family Features) Your skin is your first line of defense against the outer world. As the body’s largest organ, it protects you from bacteria, viruses and other environmental hazards, including pollution, ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun and more. It also helps regulate body temperature, recognizes pain sensations and alerts you to potential health problems, making it one of the body’s ultimate multitaskers.

While some factors that impact your skin – like genetics, aging, hormones and certain health conditions – are out of your control, there are steps you can take to support and maintain your skin’s health.

Protect Yourself from the Sun
No matter the season, exposure to UV rays from the sun can cause wrinkles, age spots and other types of damage, which could lead to skin cancer. To protect your skin from these harmful rays, use topical sunscreen daily with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 30 – even when it’s overcast – and reapply regularly.

Boost Your Diet with Antioxidants
A well-balanced diet consisting of plenty of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins and whole grains is an important part of maintaining healthy skin. However, diet alone isn’t always enough.

Many dermatologists recommend Heliocare Daily Use Antioxidant Formula as an oral dietary supplement. It contains Fernblock PLE technology, an exclusive plant extract rich in antioxidant properties that works to counteract the negative effects of free radicals, which are unstable atoms generated through everyday life that can damage skin cells. Free radical damage can cause wrinkles, discoloration and other signs of environmental aging. Taking a supplement daily, like Heliocare, can enhance antioxidant intake to help maintain skin health. Plus, it serves as a companion to topical SPF.

Keep Skin Moisturized
Daily use of a face and body moisturizer can help maintain a healthier skin barrier. This helps draw moisture to your skin from the air and lock it in. For best results and optimal hydration, moisturize within minutes of drying off after bathing to trap in moisture. Also remember to drink plenty of water, which can help keep skin hydrated, too.

Reduce Stress
Uncontrolled stress can trigger the release of hormones that dull skin and cause it to produce more oil, which can result in breakouts and other skin problems. To encourage clearer, healthier skin, take steps to reduce stress such as scaling back your to-do list, setting reasonable limits, making time for things you enjoy or trying a stress-reduction technique like yoga, meditation or tai chi.

Wear Protective Clothing
In addition to topical SPF, covering skin as opposed to leaving it exposed to the elements can protect from sun damage. When UV rays are at their peak, typically in the middle of the day, consider wearing long sleeves, pants and a large-brimmed hat.

Get a Good Night’s Rest
During sleep, your body repairs itself and regenerates skin cells. The National Sleep Foundation recommends adults get 7-9 hours of sleep each night, during which time the body produces higher levels of collagen, a protein that supports healthier looking (and functioning) skin. Lack of sleep and collagen loss go hand in hand.

Nude Hiking in a National Park – Coronado National Forest

“Nude hiking in secluded areas of national parks, like Coronado National Forest, offers a liberating experience amidst nature’s beauty.”

National Parks are often associated with stunning landscapes, diverse wildlife, and outdoor adventures. However, for those seeking a unique and liberating experience, there are secluded areas within these parks where nude hiking is not only possible but also quite common. While enjoying this activity, it is crucial to be mindful of others who may not appreciate nudity and to respect park regulations. One such place where nude hiking is known to occur is Tanque Verde Falls, located in the Coronado National Forest near Tucson, Arizona.

Tanque Verde Falls:
Tanque Verde Falls, situated in a narrow canyon, offers naturists a chance to connect with nature in their most natural form. Although caution is advised due to occasional heavy rainfall and rising water levels, the area provides opportunities for sunbathing on sandy beaches or large flat rocks. The falls themselves create a picturesque backdrop when water levels rise after snow melts or heavy rains. Visitors can choose between the main naturist area near the falls, commonly frequented by straight singles and couples, or venture further up the canyon to an area preferred by the LGBTQ+ community.

Safety and Precautions:
While embarking on a nude hiking adventure, it is essential to remain aware of potential hazards. Tanque Verde Falls is home to various desert wildlife, including rattlesnakes and gila monsters. Staying cautious and respecting the natural environment are crucial for a safe and enjoyable experience. Additionally, hikers should pack essentials such as water, snacks, and appropriate footwear, as there are no nearby services.

Alternative Location: Ka’u Desert, Volcano National Park, Hawai’i
For those looking for a nude hiking option on the Big Island of Hawai’i, Ka’u Desert in Volcano National Park offers a secluded area away from the crowds. However, it is important to be mindful of clothed visitors in the vicinity. Accommodations can be found in the well-located cottage known as Funny Valentine, providing a comfortable stay on the Hilo side of the island.

Nude hiking in national parks provides a unique way to connect with nature and embrace personal freedom. While it may be challenging to practice outdoor nudity in the United States due to cultural differences, secluded areas like Tanque Verde Falls in the Coronado National Forest offer naturists an opportunity to enjoy this liberating activity. By respecting others’ boundaries and the natural environment, hikers can have a memorable and fulfilling experience surrounded by the beauty of nature.
