SpaceX Launches Dragon Cargo Mission to ISS: Watch Live as Falcon 9 Takes Off
Watch live as SpaceX launches Dragon cargo mission to the International Space Station for NASA aboard Falcon 9 rocket.
Today, SpaceX is set to launch its 28th cargo mission to the International Space Station (ISS) for NASA. The Falcon 9 rocket will carry a Dragon cargo capsule and launch from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 12:12 p.m. ET, provided the weather cooperates.
Originally scheduled for June 3, the launch was delayed by 24 hours so that SpaceX could have more time to prepare the vehicle and wait for improved weather conditions. The robotic Dragon capsule will carry more than 7,300 pounds of cargo to the ISS, including science experiments, supplies, and equipment.
This mission marks SpaceX’s second launch this year after the successful Crew-2 mission in April, which sent four astronauts to the ISS aboard a Crew Dragon spacecraft. The company’s reusable Falcon 9 rocket will attempt to land on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean after the Dragon capsule separates from it.
As always, SpaceX will provide live coverage of the launch and landing attempts on its website and YouTube channel. This mission is another important step in SpaceX’s goal of making space exploration more accessible and cost-effective.
