Taco Bell® Turns Back Time: Nostalgic Menu Test Celebrates Blast from the Past
This August, Taco Bell fans in Southern California are in for a treat that’s both delicious and nostalgic. The beloved chain is testing a menu that brings back some of its most missed fan-favorite items from each of the past five decades—reviving the classics that have left lasting impressions on their patrons.
Reliving Delicious Memories
Spanning from the 1960s to the 2000s, Taco Bell’s special menu will feature iconic items that made history. The nostalgic menu will be available from August 15-21 at the Barranca (Irvine) and Brea locations, and from August 15-19 at the Fullerton location. Here’s what you can expect from each decade:
- 1960s – Tostada: Priced at $2.19, it’s one of the original delights from Taco Bell’s 1962 menu. Enjoy a crispy corn tostada shell topped with savory refried beans, tangy red sauce, crisp lettuce, and shredded cheese.
- 1970s – Green Burrito: A throwback to the ’70s for $2.49, this burrito wraps savory refried beans, crunchy onions, shredded cheddar cheese, and a spicy green sauce made from green chili, tomatillos, jalapeno peppers, and spices in a warm tortilla.
- 1980s – Meximelt: Revisit the ’80s with this $2.99 favorite combining freshly made pico de gallo, a three-cheese blend of mozzarella, cheddar, and Monterey Jack, and seasoned beef, all melted together in a soft tortilla.
- 1990s – Beef Gordita Supreme: For $2.99, the ’90s are back with a warm, pillowy flatbread filled with seasoned beef, cool reduced-fat sour cream, crisp lettuce, a trio of cheeses, and diced tomatoes.
- 2000s – Caramel Apple Empanada: Ending on a sweet note from the 2000s, this $2.99 golden-brown empanada features a crispy exterior filled with tender apple pieces and a creamy caramel-infused filling.
A Celebration of Decades
Taco Bell’s Chief Marketing Officer, Taylor Montgomery, shared insights on bringing these items back: “Thanks to our rich history, we have a vault of craveable products our fans have become passionate about. We continuously explore ways to reintroduce the favorites that deliver on the comfort and value they are looking for. Now, we’re thrilled to unite two groups of fans: those who fondly remember these menu items and those who have yet to experience the delight of a Caramel Apple Empanada or savor their first bite of a Meximelt.”
Taco Bell is not only looking to stir up memories but also to gauge the potential for a nationwide rollout of these classic items later this year.

If you’re in Southern California, don’t miss this limited opportunity to dive into the flavors of the past with Taco Bell’s nostalgic menu. It’s a tasty trip down memory lane that might just become part of your future too. Blue Apron Named Best Prepared Meal Delivery Service for 2026 by Consumer365
Blue Apron just picked up a new win in the prepared-meals space.

Consumer365 has recognized Blue Apron as the Best Prepared Meal Delivery Service (2026), pointing to the company’s chef-curated recipes and its growing lineup of ready-to-eat meals built for busy, time-constrained households. The recognition reflects growing consumer demand for convenient food options that reduce cooking time without sacrificing quality, structure, or variety.
Why prepared meals keep winning right now
The press release frames prepared meal delivery as a practical middle ground between cooking from scratch and defaulting to fast food or repetitive takeout.
Consumer365 notes the appeal comes down to a few clear benefits:
- Less time spent cooking (and less cleanup)
- Predictable portions and easier meal planning
- Reduced food waste, since you’re not buying full-size ingredients you may not use
- Flexibility for solo diners or households with irregular schedules
Prepared meals are especially useful during the workweek, when the friction of cooking can push people toward faster—but not always better—options.
What Consumer365 highlighted about Blue Apron
Consumer365’s recognition focuses on how Blue Apron has expanded beyond meal kits while keeping a consistent culinary identity.
Chef-curated structure across product lines
A key point: prepared meals under Dish by Blue Apron are developed by the same in-house culinary team behind Blue Apron’s meal kits. Consumer365 says that continuity helps maintain consistency in flavor development, portioning, and ingredient selection across different formats.
Refrigerated (not frozen) and fast to heat
Dish by Blue Apron meals arrive fully cooked and refrigerated (not frozen). Each meal is packaged as a single serving and designed to reheat in either a microwave or conventional oven.
Most dishes are ready in five to ten minutes, making them a solid option for lunches, quick dinners, or nights when cooking time is limited.
Rotating menus and nutrition standards
Consumer365 also points to weekly rotating menus that span a range of styles, including seafood-based dishes, vegetable-forward meals,
